How To Increase Sales With a Free Online Product
"Demo"
by Ron Knowlton
One of the quickest and best
ways to make a fast sale is to simply show how the product works.
You see this time and again at state and county fairs.
Someone (usually hooked to a microphone) hawking this gizmo or
that gadget.
People, of course, stop and pay attention ... and often
buy the gizmo after watching the brief demonstration!
(Hey, wait a minute, back up the tape ... is it really
possible to do this online?)
Yes, and I just did - with a new product called
Iprositebuilder.
The product lent itself perfectly to an "online demo".
You can see it at:

This may work for your product or service as well!
In this lesson, I'll attempt to show you some creative
and simple ways to make it work - even for the "technical dummy"
or the
"techno-phobic".
But first - I recently had another internet marketer
introduce me to a product by using a "demo".
The product was one that had created quite a "buzz". And
everyone, it seemed, was using the company's website and
ready-made ad copy to promote the company's new products.
I'm sure you've heard of the company by now - Madison
Dynamics.
If you go to their website and read about them, it's kind
of fuzzy what their products really do.
Creating an "online demo" makes a lot of sense - because
it makes it possible for anyone to drop by on the internet and
see how the product actually works.
Of course, you may need a product that lends itself
perfectly to an online demo - or wait a minute - do you? (Now I'm
jumping around - but stay with me! I'll soon get to the point -
and show you some creative solutions that just might work for
you!)
I first learned the value of a "demo" several summers ago
working as a Fuller Brush salesman, selling products door to
door.
Using the "demo", it was amazing how often the customer
bought the product - right there on their doorstep!
For example, I would clean a portion of the glass on a
screen door with the Fuller Brush glass cleaner. Or I would
remove a stain from the carpet with the carpet cleaner.
The customer realized the benefit - and it was immediate!
They could actually see the product at work and realize
the immediate benefit (the glass sparkling clean or the carpet
stain removed).
If you can figure out how to do this with your product
online - or even "simulate" it - watch the sales soar!
Here are a few quick suggestions:
1. Create a flash presentation showing your product at
work. Or show your service and what it can do to help your
customer. This may be a little more difficult or pricey to do if
you're not familiar with putting this kind of thing together.
There are other ways as well ...
(This next one seems intimidating - but really is not as
hard as it may seem - if you have access to a camera and a few
still photos. Then watch the software do the magic!)
2. Create a video.
Using a program such as Microsoft's Plus! Digital Media
Edition you can easily put together a series of still photos to
create an online video demonstration of your product or service.
The following tutorial shows you exactly how to do this
and gives an example video:

february20.asp
Using this product, you might even provide a more
personal greeting on your About Me page - complete with video.
You could also animate still screen shots from your
product for a step by step tutorial.
You might even want to put together a photo tour of your
business ...
Or maybe even show sample work that you've done (great
for an online resume - showing what you can do).
You can get this product at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsm
edia/download/default.asp.
3. And finally ... streaming video.
Here is a step by step tutorial showing you exactly how
to do this:
http://desktopvideo.about.com/library/weekly/aa081802a.htm
(regardless of your technical abilities or videomaking skills).
You may be wise to invest in DSL - if you go this route (dial-up
will take forever to upload your videos and really test your
patience!).
With a little creativity, you can quickly have an online
demo in place for your product or service!
Then watch sales take a jump!
Create a flashy pro-quality business web site in 2 hours or less
with simple mouse clicks (even if you're a "web site creation
dummy") that includes: a password-protected membership site,
polls, forms, tell-a-friend, and a complete shopping cart system!
